CBCA Aspiring Writers' Mentorship Program 2018.
My picture book manuscript Pierre was short listed.
"Pierre lived in a handbag with frilly handkerchiefs and expensive perfume.
He did not chase tennis balls.
He did not chase plastic frisbees.
And he certainly did not chase smelly squirrels at the park."
Pierre, the finest French poodle in all of Paris is ready to compete in the Poodle of the Park contest. A scruffy squirrel tail proves quite the distraction for the oodles of park poodles, Pierre included!
"Dressed as a precious, pampered poodle was slowing Pierre down.
He chomped at his tutu. He chewed at his bows.
He flicked off his booties. He flexed his wee toes."
Will it be possible to crown a winner after a chaotic and extremely messy dash through the park?
